Well, you have probably noticed that I haven't posted since Little Man's
birthday back in April. We have been so busy lately blogging has been
pretty much the last thing on my mind. Hubby had his busiest summer yet
with the youth group, and since then we haven't stopped moving. Our
little man is growing so quickly it is really hard to believe how much
he has changed over the last 6 months. Here is a little recap of our
life over the summer, fall and winter of 2015.
This summer we had lots of popsicles, and s'mores, played outside as much as possible, and overall just enjoyed life with a two year old. We also took a short trip to Grand Lake over 4th of July, and spent the entire time swimming and having fun in the water. While we were there we went canoeing, and it was very interesting trying to keep a two year old from tipping the canoe because he wanted to touch the water/drink the lake.
September we continued one of our favorite traditions, the Kansas State Fair. Little Man got to go on some of his first rides, this little dare devil was so thrilled. He is getting so independent and wanting to do everything on his own, but loves the security that Mommy and Daddy can always make it right by coming to us and saying "You fix it?".
October was a very busy month for us. Hubby and I celebrated our five year anniversary by taking a long weekend in Colorado Springs. It has very special meaning to us since we spent a week every summer there as teens, and are now taking Hubby's youth group there as well. We have never really gotten the chance to explore the city on our own, so we decided to head up there and spend a few days just relaxing in the wonderful Colorado weather. We also got there right as the leaves were changing and it was magical.
After we came home from our trip my dad helped us to build a deck in the backyard. We have a really large backyard and knew when we bought the house that we wanted a place to entertain our friends and have cookouts. Plus it is a great place to sit and watch Little Man as he plays on his swing-set or runs in the yard. It took us about a week to finish, and Little Man had the best time "building" with his Poppy; we just love the outcome. Unfortunately we finished just a few weeks before it got cold so we couldn't enjoy it as much as we had hoped. We are really looking forward to spring so we can enjoy dinner outside.
Also in October, we took a trip to our favorite pumpkin patch, Walter's. The past three years, my dad has taken family pictures out there, and I just love the way they turned out.
November and December were spent getting into the holiday spirit. We baked lots of cookies (around 25 dozen to be exact), spent as much time with family as possible, and of course went to see Santa. We had such a fun time making our Christmas cards this year, I picked up some new jammies for everyone, and we just lounged around on the bed. Little Man thought it was awesome he
was actually allowed to jump on the bed.
So there is the last of our 2015 in a nutshell. Hope your family had a great year like us. And we wish you all a Happy New Year!
