My parents hadn't seen us since I was about 11 weeks pregnant and at that point my belly was just starting to show, so when I showed up with this rather large bump it was fun to see their reactions.

We spent the next week and a half on a whirl-wind of traveling back and forth between houses, a wedding, our baby shower, and seeing friends. I was exhausting but so worth it. While we were in town we made sure we hit every "hot spot" which meant for us, every place that we had been craving over the last 2 years that we do not have in Georgia, our favorite being a hibachi grill called Sumo that makes the BEST fried rice!
The one thing that I wanted to see while I was home was snow! In Kansas the weather ranges from the 100's in the summer to freezing in the winter and we always have snow at some point during the winter. Well the day before we left I got my wish. It wasn't much, maybe 2 inches, but it still counted.
Here hubby and I are posing in the snow, and of course we had to take a picture in front of the Alabama flag, Roll Tide Roll!
Hubby and I came home last night to start the new year in Georgia and last night while laying in bed I was thinking of how blessed our past year has been. We have an awesome church family, and youth group (my husband is the youth minister if you didn't know), we moved into a new house that is perfect for our growing family, we have great close friends who are there to support us and are available to hang out whenever we need some down time (best part of all, we have the kind of relationship where we don't care if each other's house is dirty, we aren't trying to impress anyone :), we decided to let God choose the path for our lives and give over the control of when to start a family, to our surprise, God chose right away! We both have a loving family that wants to support us even though we are 1000 miles away, and we have the best dog ever, she just wants to be loved at all times (you know that dog Doug on "UP", well that's Lulu), we both have great jobs, and I work with some amazing little girls!
I know there there are so many other little things that we have been blessed by in the last year, but these are the major thank yous I want to give out to God, our family and our friends for supporting us. When I put it everything down on paper it makes me feel so loved and a little less homesick to know that we do have a great support system here and this will be a great place to raise our family in.
So from my family to yours, I hope you had an amazing holiday season, and a very blessed New Year!!
