Hubby and I grew up in the same church, by that I mean we literally started as babies and both left at 18. So, since both of our families still go to this church in Kansas they offered to host us a baby shower while we were in town for the holidays. It was so great to see all of our friends from our childhood and to share this experience with them.
If you don't know, we are Alabama fans, and we love elephants and conveniently the hosts chose a blue elephant theme for the shower! It was adorable what all they had for decorations and such and my mother and sister teamed up to make blue and green gingerbread men that looked like little babies.
Since most of the people hadn't seen us both in 2 years we decided to make this a co-ed shower. My husband was not to fond of this idea, but I think by the end he actually enjoyed himself. We played a few games to make sure the men there weren't getting too bored. The first one was Name that Price, where we would have to guess the price of baby accessories such as lotion and pacifiers. Hubby won, but only because I was over by a little and the rules stated the closest without going over :( The next game was folding socks, where we both had a basket of random socks and we had to match them and fold them, whoever was the fastest won. My mom knew that Hubby does the laundry in our house so she assumed that he would win, but actually he washes and I fold, so I won that race. And the last one was car seat curls, where we had to do as many bicep curls we could while holding a car seat, the catch was that Hubby had to have 3 bags of flour in his. Well, I technically cheated cause I used 2 hands instead of one, but they counted it and I won that games too!
The shower was a bunch of fun and we just wanted to give a shout-out to the hostesses and thank them for a job well done. Little man came home with a bunch of loot, in fact we had to borrow an extra suitcase from my mom because we filled the 3 we had already brought with us! So thank you all who came and supported our growing family, we love you all.
